Depends on faucet brand

Looks similar to the metal insert on my Kohler crescent bathroom faucet. Use the mirror and needle-nose pliers to pull it out. Probably one of those annoying little parts you can only get at the plumbing supply house that handles that brand. (been there done that :-)
Most kitchen faucets I've dealt with (various brands) have threaded spouts for the filter.

Ever change the finish on a bathroom fixture?

Is it possible to spraypaint (or use another method) to inexpensively, yet effectively, change the finish on a bathroom sink faucet? I m remodeling and already have some really nice faucets in oil rubbed bronze, but the rest of the fixtures and hardware in the bathrooms is satin nickel. I d like to keep the faucets but prefer the nickel. Any ideas or thoughts?

- Well , if you want to coordinate your fixtures in your bathroom, then you would have to keep all the same - as far as operations are concerned, no problem..
My house has the basic golden light fixtures and stainless steel kitchen and bathroom faucets.?

Iam planning to change them and Iam not able to decide what finish to use and should I match my faucets with my light and knobs. I do not want to go with the modern or contemporary look. Plus I have stainless steel towels bars and cabinet knobs too. I would appreciate if someone can help me decide on a finish and is it ok if I have two different kinds of finishes.
- Usually we install with a uniform look, but not always. Most stainless will be of the contemporary design or clean lines. Polished brass has gone out of style and not many styles to choose from. The bronze colors are still the #1 color style available along with Nickels. Mixing bronze and nickel will usually work if you have wood cabinets, trims or other accessories.
Does the master bathroom have to match the master bedroom furniture?

I m planning on renovating my master bathroom, and I pretty much know what I want in terms of style. However, I happen to have cream color, cottage style bedroom furniture. Does the master bathroom have to match that color and style? I was planning on having a dark color for the vanity, neutral color tile, with bronze faucets, and beige color granite counter top.
- You should get a distressed dark brown cabinet, and get a decorative edge on the counter, I prefer the Dupont edge. It is all a matter of preference on what look to put where but an off set but coordinating tone will work great separating the two rooms. I do this for a living and any thing looks great.
